Rome Odunze’s 2024 Season Projections

-

Welcome back to my series of player previews for the 2024 NFL season, leading up to training camp. The Chicago Bears have a new quarterback and a mix of familiar faces on both offense and defense. Although the expectations aren’t as high as some seasons, they’re still quite optimistic given the team’s talent. In this series, I’ll provide quick previews and my season projections for many key players. Today we will focus on Rome Odunze. How much of an impact will the rookie WR have in 2024?

Rome Odunze

2023 College Stats: 92 Receptions | 1,640 yards | 13 TD

I believe the number 9 overall pick will adapt quickly and make a significant impact in his rookie season. While he might not reach 1,000 yards because of the presence of DJ Moore and Keenan Allen, he will still be a major challenge for opposing defenses from the jump. I can see him rising into the top 10 wide receivers in the NFL the next few years.

2024 Projected Stats: 59 receptions | 701 yards | 6 TD

This might be another conservative projection, but I like Odunze’s stats here. With his large frame, he should excel at scoring touchdowns in the red zone. The key will be how quickly Rome adapts to the next level and builds chemistry with Caleb Williams in the offense. Overall, it looks like a very promising rookie season for Rome.

Only 5 of 32 first rounders have not signed contracts. Caleb and Rome are two of the five. Say what?

Caleb and Rome are already close and both know that their futures depend on each other. I can see Caleb making a conscious effort to target Rome on quite a few plays. I can see Keenan and Rome putting up similar stats in this offense this year with DJ being the highest in production.
