Former Teammate Shares Untold Story From Caleb Williams’ Time At USC

-

I had the chance to talk with Tahj Washington, a former USC teammate and star wide receiver, who is close friends with Caleb Williams. Washington recently appeared on the BFR Podcast, the official Chicago Bears podcast by Sports Mockery, where he shared fascinating insights and stories about Williams that many haven’t heard before.

One intriguing story Washington shared was about a personal experience with Williams. Before the 2022 season, Williams had partnered with Beats for a commercial as part of the new NIL deals for college athletes. At the time, Washington and Williams weren’t as close as they are now. However, after spring ball ended, Washington received a text from Williams inviting him to join him in the Beats commercial. Washington was initially surprised by the invitation and had to confirm that Caleb was genuinely serious.

“It was a blessing to get to share that experience. For a person that barley knew me, to do that, it spoke volumes.

If we are looking for a smaller slot WR that’s quick and shifty, who can also take it to the house every time that he touches the ball, I would much prefer Malik Washington.

Reports were he was unguardable during Shrine Bowl week and his numbers back that up with almost 1500 yards receiving while playing with a mediocre true freshman QB throwing him the ball most of the year. He’s a special player.
