Three Big Takeaways From Caleb Williams Top-30 Visit With Bears

-

The Chicago Bears had their official top-30 visit with USC quarterback Caleb Williams this week. This meeting followed a previous visit during Caleb’s Pro Day last month, which provided valuable insights into his character and how he interacts with teammates both on and off the field. However, the timing of Williams’ top-30 visit remained uncertain after he was asked about it during his Pro Day and couldn’t provide a definite answer. Reportedly, the Bears initially hoped for the visit to occur within a week after the NFL combine, but Caleb declined at that time. Nevertheless, the visit eventually took place this week, and here are my three big takeaways.

Caleb Williams Is Being Very Selective

NFL Network reported that Caleb Williams is anticipated to make only one top 30 visit, which will be with the Chicago Bears. The worst kept secret in the league is now confirmed: Caleb will be a Bear. It was always destined to be Caleb.

Bears Are Wasting No Time

The Chicago Bears have been very proactive in their process with Caleb Williams. At his pro day last month, Keenan Allen, new star wide receiver for the Bears, attended to show support for Williams, which was great to see at the time. However, reports confirm that the Bears invited more players to dinner for Caleb’s top 30 visit, including DJ Moore, according to several sources. The team is wasting no time to familiarize Williams with his new teammates.

Caleb Williams Answered All Questions

We’ve all been aware of the potential concerns surrounding Caleb Williams. However, the Bears have addressed all their questions. The franchise has no concerns about the USC product. Williams reportedly completed his medicals in Chicago during his top-30 visit, and the Bears also tested him on the whiteboard, similar to what was done at his Pro Day.

Again, zero red flags.

The evaluation process is essentially complete. Now, all that remains is for the Bears to officially select Caleb Williams when they turn in their draft card on Thursday, April 25th.

@scottbrs “It is almost impossible for the next three years to be a failure.”

Stand up, right now, and go knock on some wood. I am serious.

It’s incredibly funny to read @barry_mccockiner and his tripe. Just the word usage and false news alone point to trolling. Find one person on earth without flaws, regrets(no matter how small), bad days, good days or whatever and you have a deity not an NFL player. We don’t need someone to bow down to, we need a guy who is going to do his best to give us his best. That goes for anyone they draft. Contrary to some comments, JF1 did the same. But when their best is not good enough, you politely move on. He has no stake… Read more »

Jim Jones it is almost impossible for the next three years to be a failure. This is a good team. Maybe Williams won’t throw for four thousand yards and 40 touchdowns every season, and a lot of people on here might consider that a failure, but we are going to win games.

@Scott brs if there is even a discussion of comparison after 3 years it’s a failure. Justin Fields was not good at the QB position. That’s where the comparison is. If anyone can point to the numbers and ask how we are better off after 3 years? Pretty simple actually. Not Justin’s mythological upside either. His actual production.
