Although it’s not official, there’s a strong belief that the Chicago Bears will select USC quarterback Caleb Williams with the number one overall pick in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft. This anticipation has generated considerable excitement surrounding Williams. Known as a superstar in college football, Williams has already reportedly earned over $10 million through NIL deals, making him the first true superstar NIL athlete to enter the NFL. Unapologetically himself, Williams embraces his unique personality without hesitation, a trait that may not sit well with everyone. However, in a recent episode of the BFR Podcast, the official Chicago Bears podcast presented by Sports Mockery, former Chicago Bear and three-time Pro Bowler, Kyle Long, offered some advice to Williams regarding the “Hollywood” image that has been associated with him.
“In regards to the Hollywood stuff, embrace it bro. Chicago needs a superstar. You absolutely need a superstar.”
Kyle is absolutely right. Williams has a rare talent for tuning out distractions while remaining authentic to who he is. His self-confidence mirrors that of all great athletes. Kyle pointed out that during his time in Kansas City, he watched Patrick Mahomes remain confident no matter the situation or circumstances. He sees a similar quality in Caleb Williams. Chicago is long overdue for a superstar QB. Perhaps, the stars have finally aligned as Williams could very well be what this franchise has been searching for decades.
