Lions Head Coach Brutally Honest On Justin Fields Trade

-

The Chicago Bears made the decision to move on from Justin Fields just a few weeks ago. They will likely bring in a new signal caller by using the first overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft on a rookie quarterback. Most presume the Bears to select USC quarterback Caleb Williams. This move has left some fans disappointed, as they wanted to keep Fields and build the team around him, potentially by trading down from the top pick once more. However, when asked about the Bears decision to trade Fields, Detroit Lions Head Coach Dan Campbell offered a surprising response.

“I’m not gonna lie, it’s nice to have (Justin) Fields outta that division.

Justin Fields absolutely torched the Detroit Lions while playing in Chicago. So, it’s understandable why Dan Campbell responded the way he did. Justin had 1,293 total yards and 8 touchdowns in 5 games against the Lions.

Tred Vegas doesn’t look at the bears and say man they should’ve won 10 games last year they look at the Bears won 7… they also go 8.5 because there’s still Green Bay and Detroit in this division who based off last year are good teams still add in growing pains of a rookie QB because playing like Stroud isn’t the norm and I’d be willing to bet he regresses a little bit this year compared to last not drastically but he isn’t putting up the same numbers Vegas putting 8.5 wins shows they see the Bears as improved this… Read more »

Give the JF rhetoric a rest. He was shipped out for a 6th round pick because that is all the WHOLE NFL thought of a sack-master with the worst 4th quarter stats in the league. Not to mention (but I’m gonna anyway) his consistent bottom third ranking of all QBs and his less than 4 wins a season after playing three years. JF ended up ranking 16 or so spots lower than GBs QB – and that was in JL’s first year. Your JF man-crush doesn’t matter when it comes to how the NFL views a football player’s abilities.

@barry_mccockiner – trying to understand why Poles does certain things, when he does them can be very irritating. One thing I’ve I’ve noticed about Poles, about 70% of the time what he says is not what he does. Maybe that is simply the normal GM’s pate of BS designed to misdirect the rest of the league. Maybe not. IDK. What I do know is that Vegas has set the over/under at 8.5 games this year for the Bears. Considering the Bears won 7 last year, and should have won 10, that tells me that Vegas is not expecting this offseason’s… Read more »

Fields is a weapon with the ball in his hands in the open field. Beyond the line of scrimmage, anyway. Poles had to move him now because Justin will need as much time as possible to get into the playbook. Russell Wristband was exposed a couple years ago. I hope what Bagent showed with his emphasis on repetition for preparation rubs off on JF because that is exactly what he needs. He needs to bust it this offseason, camp, and preseason if he wants to get that next contract. Poles did right by JF. Sorry to say, but he was… Read more »
