The Chicago Bears To Play In The 2024 Hall Of Fame Game

-

Just announced moments ago, the Chicago Bears will play in the Hall of Fame Game as part of the annual enshrinement celebration in Canton, Ohio. The game will be played on Thursday, August 1. Tickets will go on sale Wednesday, April 12th, at 9:00 AM. For more info click here.

This was expected. With two Bears being enshrined and a third enshrine who played in Chicago for a few years, it is a great move by the NFL. Devin Hester and Steve Mongo McMichael will join Julius Peppers as all three will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame this year.

This will be the Bears’ 6th appearance in Canton. Canton has been kind to Chicago. They have won 4 of their previous five games. The Bears last played in the Hall of Fame Game in 2018, losing to the Ravens 17-16. The Bears are 4-1 all-time in the Hall of Fame Game, having defeated the Cowboys 30-24 in 1968, Jets 20-6 in 1977, Browns 13-0 in 1990, and Dolphins 27-24 in 2005.

They will face the Houston Texans.

The HOF game will also mark the debut of the Bears’ new quarterback. The presumptive favorite, Caleb Williams would likely start and play the first one or two series. Now, his start will be under the lights, in prime time.

Bears to host a game in London

Chicago loses their ninth home game this year. They will play a “Home” game overseas. There are rumors their opponent will be the Jacksonville Jaguars. The game will be played at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Michael, who is the Bears opponent in the Hall of Fame game?

I think Williams might play more than a series or two, given the slightly elevated status of this preseason game. It will be good for him to get the extra reps.
