Currently, the Chicago Bears are dominating NFL discussions, particularly regarding their quarterback situation. People are wondering about the future of Justin Fields and whether the Bears will trade him, and if so, where he might go. These questions pop up frequently in conversations about the team. In the latest episode of the BFR Podcast, which is the official Chicago Bears podcast for Sports Mockery, hosts Dave and Ficky sat down with NFL Insider Ari Meirov from The 33rd Team. We discussed various aspects of the Chicago Bears, not just the quarterback issue, although that was inevitably brought up. Ficky asked Ari about potential teams to keep an eye on for a Justin Fields trade, and one unexpected suggestion from Ari was the Seattle Seahawks, whom he labeled as a “dark horse” in this scenario.
“One team I have been eying a little bit and no one has really brought them up, I am curious about what is going on in Seattle.. They are starting a new era.. Pete Carroll had control of John Schneider. Now John Schneider has actual control as a GM and is making all the moves.”
Ari suggested that if Seattle were to trade for Justin Fields, it could lead to a quarterback competition between Geno Smith and Fields. Seattle has a history of bringing in competition for its quarterbacks, as seen in previous instances like Geno Smith competing with Drew Lock and Russell Wilson competing with Matt Flynn. While Ari emphasized that this scenario isn’t guaranteed, he advised keeping an eye on Seattle as a potential destination for Justin Fields.

Coupla dominoes must fall before Fields can be traded. Seems like Fields will be traded more like April Fool’s day.
@Veece The least Ryan Poles will listen to is a first round and maybe second or third. That is the least. People who are pricing at Sam Darnold returns are delusional. The Bears don’t HAVE to trade Fields (just drive-by gawkers think so). The Jets didn’t HAVE to trade Darnold either, they just have had a series of idiots who have rotated through Mark Sanchez, Sam Darnold, Zack Wilson, Aaron Rodgers, Zack Wilson and What-Are-We Going-To-Do-Now for 20 years. The Bears can trade Fields and join that carousel any time they want to follow Erik Lambert or YouTube watchers. Ryan… Read more »
There is a reason that demand for Justin Fields in trade has cooled. It isn’t because he somehow got worse since the Bears last game. It’s because Ryan Poles is demanding an appropriate amount in trade. No one is paying that kind of price for “competition” in camp. Some misguided non-reader defined my long form analysis as a “man-crush” on Justin Fields, but I suggest that only people who have never run an organization, or built anything would let their emotional hard-ons dictate decisions that would impact their own lives forevermore. Allowing either an emotional response, either negative or positive… Read more »
SEA still has GSmith and Lock. Vegas and ATL have a need. Bears will have to wait until Cousins and Mayfield sign. However, both want big money. So, we’re looking at Draft time before Fields is moved.
Hopefully Cousins and Mayfield stay with Minn and TB. Then, there’s not much other than Wilson and journeyman out there.
If Steelers seriously want a change at QB, Fields is their guy because they don’t have the best draft position or enough cap space ($20mil) to go after Cousins, etc.
What do you think will happen?
Trade down with Wash.(getting #2 overall, their 2nd round pick, 2025 1st round pick, 2026 1st round pick)
Take “Marv” at 2.
Trade back to 12 from 9, get another 2nd round pick…
Take either the last “elite” WR at 12 or EDGE or OT.
2nd rounder—take THE BEST Center in the draft.
Bears will be playoff relevant in this coming season.
