The class of 2024 Pro Football Hall of Fame will be revealed during the “NFL Honors” show airing on Thursday, February 8, just three days ahead of Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas. Among the 15 finalists is Devin Hester, Chicago Bears legend known for his elite skills as a returner.
Two reliable sources have informed me that Devin Hester will be inducted into the Hall of Fame this Thursday. David Kaplan from ESPN 1000 echoed this on the latest episode of the BFR Podcast, expressing his belief that Hester will indeed receive the honor this year.
“Let me promise you this, he is getting in on Thursday.”
Devin Hester should have been a First Ballot Hall of Famer.
If Hester is inducted this year, it’s a victory for both the NFL and, naturally, Hester himself. Personally, I believe he should have been a first-ballot Hall of Famer. He remains the greatest returner in NFL history, and given the recent changes to kickoff rules, it’s doubtful we’ll witness another player of Devin Hester’s caliber ever again.
Chicago Bears moving on from Justin Fields for Caleb Williams? David Kaplan joins the show!
Will the Chicago Bears reset the rookie quarterback clock? Is Devin Hester being inducted into the Hall of Fame this year? In this week’s episode of the BFR Podcast, hosts Dave and Ficky are joined by Chicago Sports Talk legend David Kaplan. They discuss the Bears quarterback dilemma, Devin Hester’s Hall of Fame status, and much more. You can listen to the podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or your preferred podcast platform. The episode is also available on YouTube.

When teams CHOOSE to kick out of bounds and give your team a starting position of the 40 yard line, you have done something nobody else has before or since. He changed the way teams could play the game, he was THAT good. Devin Hester is the biggest no-brainer for the HoF that I can remember. Fingers crossed we see him and Mongo on the list going in tomorrow night!
I still get chills watching Hester highlights!
All due respect to Hester, as he most definitely deserves to be inducted into the HOF, but McMichaels should be inducted (should have been years ago) more so than anyone on the ballot. Stay strong Mongo, we love ya.
Congratulations, Devin Hester! Crossing my fingers that Steve McMichael gets to join you in Canton this year!
He is who we thought is, the GOAT return man in NFL history. He dominated his position like no other. Yes, there are other great returners, but Hester was just different. Kickers got cut for allowing him Hester to return the ball.
The things he did when returning the ball were extraordinary. There are so many highlights and amazing returns, but the Arizona Cardinal game and the opening kick off return for the TD in the Super Bowl will be two that live with me forever.
Congrats to #23 for taking his place among the NFL’s elite!
