The NFL off-season has started for many teams. Representatives from the Bears, including scouts, coaches, and general manager Ryan Poles, attended the Senior Bowl last week. In a recent report, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune shared valuable insights about the Senior Bowl experience. An interesting point emphasized in the article was the perspectives of five NFL general managers on the Bears possible moves with the first pick in the upcoming off-season.
“The resounding answer from five GMs I spoke with was clear: Bears GM Ryan Poles will draft a quarterback with the top pick.”
Justin Fields trade could happen sooner than we think
The Chicago Bears face a crucial decision to capitalize on Justin Fields current value. Waiting until the draft risks other teams signing quarterbacks through free agency or making deals beforehand. With numerous teams in need of a quarterback right now, it’s essential for Ryan Poles, if he’s set on selecting a quarterback at number 1, to maximize the return on Justin Fields. This report may indicate the beginning of the end of Justin Fields time in Chicago.

My hope is if the Bears trade Fields, he ends up in Minnesota in a year or two and kicks our behinds twice a year for being stupid!
Throwing the ball 300+ yards like. The the AFC draws crowds. But good old fashion NFC running the ball wins in Jan.& Feb.
Sure, take a qb that will take at least a year to develope over one who is starting to set NFL records. Real smart. But you can say I’m not intelligent by posting it
I don’t understand this narrative that trading or moving on from Fields is gonna ruin or restart the rebuild. That statement would only be true if he played well and proved he was a franchise quarterback. He doesn’t make the Bears a better team and it’s laughable to think him leaving is hurting the Bears. Fields is not Lamar Jackson, he is not Patrick Mahomes, he is not Joe Borrow etc. They need a functioning quarterback that can throw with timing and rhythm. I want a franchise quarterback for once, I’m tired as a Bears fan of us fans getting… Read more »
Pooch, I don’t think Poles nor the other GMs in the league are as simple minded as you have suggested. I also don’t think trading Fields is the equivalent of sinking a ship that has been built. Poles is working diligently at rebuilding the entire roster. Plus Ian Cunningham will be here for at least one more year. I do agree with you on hanging on to Fields for one more year. The trade market for Fields now is rather poor. I can see picking up the option for Fields and keeping him for one more year. Then look to… Read more »
