This shift began earlier in the season when he emphasized playing his own game, and it continued with a press conference where he openly criticized being “overcoached”. Over time, Fields has become more authentic, worrying less about giving the cliché responses. Following the win against Arizona, reporter Shawn Sierra posed a personnel-related question to Justin Fields, who delivered a hilarious but compelling response.

In Chicago, being the quarterback is known to be challenging, just ask Jay Cutler, Mitchell Trubisky, and even Nick Foles. This city can be brutal, showering you with love one week and turning on you the next. Just like the NFL is a week-to-week league, the same holds true for the Bears signal callers in Chicago. But Justin Fields has emerged as a great leader who navigates criticism very well. Even when he responds, he does so in a subtly respectful manner. In my view, Justin is justified in holding reporters accountable for their actions and his latest clap back was totally justified and quite refreshing.
