Bears Injury News Goes From Bad To Worse Ahead Of The Kansas City Game

-

Just when it appeared the Bears escaped from Tampa with only a few nicks; both Darnell Mooney and Eddie Jackson left the game but according to head coach Matt Eberflus, both were minor. Eddie Jackson injured a foot during the game. He did not participate in Wednesday’s practice. Darnell Mooney revealed a knee bruise, suffered in the Green Bay game, was reagrivated at Tampa, limiting his playing time to only 15 plays. Mooney was back on the practice field Wednesday but was limited.

Braxton Jones Goes To IR!

Matt Eberflus dropped a bomb during his press briefing Wednesday when he announced Braxton Jones had been placed on IR due to a neck injury. This took everyone by surprise. Jones did not miss a snap this past Sunday. With Teven Jenkins already on injured reserve this means 40% of the starting OL are not available. Jenkins is eligible to play in week five, when the Bears play a Thursday night game at Washington. Jones must be inactive for a minumum of four games. The earliest Jones can return to action is October 22nd, when the Bears face the Raiders.

Backup center Lucas Patrick, who filled in at center in Tampa did not participate in Wednesday’s practice due to an illness. The last player on the injury report is Josh Blackwell, who was limited due to tightness in his hamstring.

Put Lewis beside whoever is playing left tackle and we’ll be fine. Should have been doing that anyway.

Ok, now allnthe Jones haters will get a chance to see what the LT position looks like without him. He wasn’t perfect by any means, but we’ll see what he value he brought to the position soon.

The way he was playing, perhaps IR was better than riding the pine after being benched.
