Bears Lineman Surpasses Expectations, Ranks Among NFL’s Elite

-

Training camp officially starts today. We’ve finally made it. The NFL season is officially right around the corner. It’s just a good time to be a fan of football. Now let’s get to the good stuff. According to a recent article from NFL Reporter, Matt Lombardo, Chicago Bears guard Teven Jenkins seems to have left a big impression with people around the league. In this piece, Matt ranked his top-5 interior offensive lineman heading into the 2023 season. Here’s how it went.

1. Creed Humphrey, C, Kansas City Chiefs

2. Jason Kelce, C, Philadelphia Eagles

3. Chris Lindstrom, G, Atlanta Falcons

Subscribe to the BFR Youtube channel and ride shotgun with Dave and Ficky as they break down Bears football like nobody else.

4. Teven Jenkins, G, Chicago Bears

5. Frank Ragnow, C, Detroit Lions

He went on to say this regarding Jenkins.

“Jenkins was stellar last season, allowing only two sacks and 12 pressures across 13 games, ranking as Pro Football Focus’ third-rated offensive guard in the league. At age 25, Jenkins has plenty of upside from here, especially if he continues to develop in pass protection, which could be aided by quarterback Justin Fields potentially taking major steps in his development, especially after the arrival of game-changing wide receiver D.J. Moore this offseason.”

Teven Jenkins Is Just Scratching The Surface

One of my favorite players on this Bears roster just happens to be Teven Jenkins. The 25 year-old is finally finding his home with the Bears at guard. It’s crazy to think about but not too long ago there were rumors circulating about him potentially being on the trade block. Flash forward to today and he’s cracking top 5 NFL lineman lists. I am glad nothing ever transpired and hyped we get to see this man beat up on opposing defensive lineman. Jenkins has exactly the mentality this Bears line needs and the nastiness that he plays with is irreplaceable. I am excited to see him transition from right to left guard. I believe it will be seamless and should help solidify the frontline for Justin Fields. This Bears team is young. But they do have several building blocks in place. It’s great to see Jenkins finally receiving the recognition he deserves. Year 3 will be a lot of fun to watch.

Big fan of Teven. He’s exactly what this offensive line needs. I was totally against trading him and happy that didn’t happen.

The only thing he needs to do is stay healthy. Hoping that can happen this year.
