Andrew Vaughn Set To Get X-rays On Injured Foot

-

Chicago White Sox first baseman Andrew Vaughn was out of the White Sox lineup on Wednesday night after fouling a pitch off his left foot in the White Sox 11-10 loss to the Mets the day before. Vaughn did not leave the game.

However, Vaughn is set for X-rays on his left foot on Thursday afternoon. The team says it is a precautionary measure.

“We’re not anticipating anything wrong, but he was pretty sore,” manager Pedro Grifol told reporters.

The last time he was placed on the IL was May 5th of last season when he was placed on the 10-day IL for a bruised right hand.

Vaughn has played a solid first base this season, slashing .244/.316/.422 with 12 home runs, 23 doubles, 54 RBIs and a 107 OPS+ through 94 games this season.

This is the first season the White Sox 2019 No. 3 overall pick has been able to play his natural position at first base after spending two seasons trying to learn the outfield. Last season he led the White Sox with 17 home runs.

For his career, he is hitting .252 with 44 home runs, 178 RBIs and a .731 OPS.
