Bears Rookie WR Tyler Scott Provides Inside Scoop On Chase Claypool

-

I had a chance to sit down with Bears rookie wide receiver Tyler Scott for almost an hour on the BFR Podcast. First off, you’re definitely gonna want to check out the full episode on our YouTube. Secondly, he is one of the most genuine and humble human beings I’ve ever come across. We talked about a vast amount of topics ranging from football, his card collection, favorite movies and a whole lot more. However, some of the best conversation came from when he spoke about his relationships with is current Bears teammates. One of the most interesting discussions revolved around fellow wide receiver Chase Claypool. He went on to say this.

“Dude is funny. Love Chase. Chase has just been a dude that’s always been checking up on me. More so just off the field. Just kind of a dude that texts me to see how I am doing and how my people are doing.”

There has been a lot of talk surrounding Chase Claypool as of late. But the fact is, Claypool is a great teammate. And even though he isn’t one to post his off-season workouts etc. it doesn’t mean he isn’t working hard to be ready for training camp. Now it’s awesome that Claypool checks in regular with his rookie teammate but it’s the next interaction Tyler depicts that involves his own family and Claypool.

“They had a family barbecue, the Bears did. He (Claypool) was the first person to come up to my parents and introduce himself and just say hello. My mom was just so excited and my dad was like oh yeah you’re Chase Claypool. He’s just a real good dude and a guy I love to talk to and spend time with.”

When it comes to the headlines, this is what we should be reading about regarding Chase. Not rumors that are floated around to simply push old narratives that remain untrue. Honestly, it’s just refreshing to hear authentic insight involving two friends like Scott and Claypool. One is an NFL vet and the other is entering his very first season in the league. But the respect and comradery is there and you can’t say that’s necessarily always the case in an NFL locker-room.

To watch the entire conversation, be sure to check out the full video on the BFR YouTube channel.

Subscribe to the BFR Youtube channel and ride shotgun with Dave and Ficky as they break down Bears football like nobody else.

@Sam… (and JBB) I posted basically the same comment and got a bunch of minuses too. I like you wasn’t intending to bash Chase the person or say I wasn’t rooting for him as a bear. Just saying… while in Europe….Modeling… one assumes he wasn’t studying the bears playbook, or watch film or getting treatment for his soft tissue, issue. Just being realistic and wanting this team to be successful. By comparison…I don’t see him being AS dedicated to some of my other favorite bears. (e.g. JF, Braxton and Moon’) Bottomline is we are ALL rooting for the bears!! I… Read more »

Sam K has tough opinions, maybe different from most guys, but he’s a Bears fan and it’s nice to have respectful comments that don’t always follow the party line.

I am not trying to judge anybody, but I always find it a bit sad when I see people choose to have a negative outlook of other people or things when a positive outlook about them can be just as likely. I would much rather believe that someone can rise to the occasion, and if they don’t, then, apologize for being wrong about them, rather than having to apologize for trashing someone wrongfully. Chase Claypool appears to be a good guy and a good teammate who may or may not have some growing up to do. Let’s give him the… Read more »

@Jioha.. I don’t root for Chase to fail. I hope he becomes the best WR in football. But u are also “glad stories like this are being shared”.. and to b clear the story is about an NFL player texting a teammate occasionally to say hey, hope ur doing OK. Maybe u should be happy when a story is shared that Chase had 8 catches for 110 yards in a Chicago win. Just sayin… expect more.. root for more on the actual field. BEARDOWN!
