D.J. Moore Reportedly “Reinvigorated” Thanks To Justin Fields

-

D.J. Moore had a tough time during his five seasons with the Carolina Panthers. While he produced consistently during that run, it almost always came despite the quarterbacks. He worked with a past-his-prime Cam Newton, career backup Kyle Allen, 1st round bust Sam Darnold, and journeyman Teddy Bridgewater. With that kind of relentless turnover at the position and an overall lack of talent to work with, one can understand why Moore had one of his worst seasons in 2022. Both his yards and touchdowns were down, and some around the organization pointed out how frustrated he was at times.

The Chicago Bears hoped his arrival in Chicago would provide a fresh start, especially having the chance to work with a talented quarterback like Justin Fields. Reports have already surfaced that the two are making noise in practices, consistently dicing up the defense for big plays. NFL Notifications, which has produced reliable inside information in recent months, provided an interesting update. It sounds like Moore is feeling better than he has in years, and most of it is thanks to a blossoming relationship with his new quarterback.

D.J. Moore already knows one thing about his new quarterback.

Nobody will outwork him. Fields is borderline obsessive when it comes to mental and physical preparation. He wants to be great and will make every sacrifice necessary to get there. That can be so endearing for a receiver to see that from his quarterback. Fields welcomed him to Chicago from the outset. They met for dinner immediately, and then they attended a Bulls game. Since then, they’ve been joined at the hip for throwing sessions, film study, and practice. Moore has to feel so refreshed knowing he has a guy with that ability and that dedication throwing him the ball.

One should not expect things to click right away. D.J. Moore himself said it would take until at least the start of training camp for them to get on the same page. Reaching true symmetry may require a few games of the regular season. Yet based on the latest evidence, they’re ahead of schedule. What makes it even better is the Bears aren’t operating at full strength. Darnell Mooney hasn’t returned yet from his ankle injury. Once he’s back, this passing game could turn into something feisty.

@ThomasGena – Tyreek Hill – $30 million Devante Adams – $28 million DHOP (before being waived) $27 million, (now that was high). Cooper Kupp – $26 million AJ Howard – $25 million Deebo Samuels, Stephan Diggs & DK Metcalf $24 million each Terry McLaurin – $23 million DJ Moore – $20.6 I know there are many top receivers not on this list. It’s simply because they have not been paid yet, but when they are, it will be for more than $20.6 million. Not saying DJ is Top Ten, but he’s certainly Top 15 and under the Bears control for… Read more »

Let’s hope so! Ryan Poles is paying DJ Moore a reported $20.4 million this year.
That’s an “invigorating” number, yeah?

I know it’s only practice, but I’ve been a Bears fan since the days of Rex Grossman and I’ve never seen actual production from the QB spot during practice. That position has always struggled even during the off-season. So it’s refreshing to hear we have a QB that is so obsessed with being great and than showing up and looking good in practice. It’s great to hear the optimism from the QB position. I can’t wait for the regular season when we get to see this 1, 2 punch in action. LFG! 🐻⬇️
