Aaron Rodgers’ Jets Tenure Is Already Off To A Rough Start

-

Rumors have persisted for months. Aaron Rodgers has confirmed the plan is for him to join the New York Jets at some point this off-season. It seems like the only hurdle left to clear is compensation between the Green Bay Packers and the Jets. GM Joe Douglas sounds confident it will get done. During this interim, it appears Rodgers has worked behind the scenes to start recruiting players to New York. They already added former Packers teammate Allen Lazard. Word is they’re also looking into Randall Cobb. However, the big fish he had eyes for was Odell Beckham Jr.

Recent signs pointed to the Jets nearing a deal with the former Pro Bowl wide receiver. He and Rodgers have a friendship going back years and they’ve wanted to play together. Green Bay never made the move to land him despite opportunities. It seemed like New York was ready to grant that wish. Sadly, it appears Rodgers’ hard luck at luring free agents is stronger than ever. Reports surfaced on Easter Sunday that Beckham would bypass the Jets, accepting a large one-year deal to join the Baltimore Ravens.

Aaron Rodgers takes yet another free agency L.

This situation is incredibly hilarious. It’s one thing for the Jets not to sign Beckham, but it’s another to see the Ravens outbid them. Baltimore has a longstanding reputation for never overpaying for free agents. Ever. To hand Beckham $18 million despite having not played last season because of a knee injury is wildly out of character. It speaks to how desperate their situation is with Lamar Jackson. They had to send a message they’re committed to their quarterback. Signing a proven receiver was a gesture they hope can finally thaw contract talks.

As for Aaron Rodgers, he’ll have to make do with what New York already has. That isn’t a bad thing. Garrett Wilson looks like an emerging stud. Mecole Hardman brings more speed to the table from Kansas City. Together with Lazard, that should be a solid trio. Along with a healthy Breece Hall at running back, the Jets’ offense should be able to score points. Still, the presence of Beckham might’ve put them over the top. It’s been the story of Rodgers’ career.

It’s the money not the fans. Especi From a self centered Californian. Taking our great guys with only proves that.

Martin you rambling, self-centered jacka$$. Since the day Brady retired media outlets have stated that Rogers wouldn’t retire due to entering the HOF with Brady. Now it’s your “pet theory”, lol. You can pet Thomas Gena’s chest hair while he tea bags you.

It’s clear the Jets have no backup plan and will continue bending over for all the cr@p Rodgers gives them. Even if they get saddled with him, Rodgers will continue being a royal pain in the @ss the entire season. At that point, the Jets will end up without a starting QB and in an overall even worse place than they are today. No sympathy; we’ve finally got real leaders and winners with Warren and Poles.

I thought Jets should have dumped A Rod quest a while back and go Carr…. But I get hoping to wait it out.

Just surprises me Jets have “zero interest” in the younger /mobile former MVP in Lamar as well, with this stall job taking this long…
