The Chicago Bulls have a lot of decisions to make as the trade deadline approaches. With an aging roster riddled with injuries, the Bulls have failed to see the full potential of the team they put together in the summer of 2021. After trading away a few first-round picks along with Wendell Carter Jr. for Nikola Vucevic, the Bulls seem to struggle to put together attractive assets to improve their team through the trade market.

As of now, their backcourt seems expendable as long as Lonzo Ball makes his return at some point this season. With Coby White, Alex Caruso, and Ayo Dosunmu holding down the ship as Lonzo Ball recovers from his knee surgery, the Bulls have attractive low-cost pieces that could net them an excellent return. After losing their draft pick due to tampering for Lonzo Ball and sending two first-round draft picks to Orlando, the Bulls have struggled to put together young talent besides Ayo Dosunmu and Patrick Williams. If they’re willing to part ways with another pick, Chicago can have a decent trade package around Coby White to improve their roster.

Bulls Trade: Coby White

Mavericks Trade: Dwight Powell

This would be considered a lateral move regarding the caliber of players, but both players can make a positive impact from this trade. For Dallas, they can add another scorer off the bench. They’ve been desperate to find Luka Doncic some help, and they can put a quick bandage fix on the problem with Coby White until they figure out how to lure a scoring star to their team. For Chicago, the Bulls are desperate for rebounding help and size. Tony Bradley can not contribute. Outside of Andre Drummond, who often finds himself in foul trouble, the Bulls are nearly outrebounded every game. Powell isn’t an elite rebounder, but at 6’10, he adds size to the power-forward position for the Bulls.

Bulls Trade: Coby White, Portland Pick

Magic Trade: Mo Bamba

Mo Bamba was very close to signing a deal with the Chicago Bulls last summer. The Bulls eventually went the cheaper route with Andre Drummond, but as their record shows, they could’ve made a better deal to improve their roster. Luckily, they have another chance at landing Bamba as the guard-hungry Magic are looking to add backcourt depth to their team. With the emergence of Bol Bol and Wendell Carter Jr., they are again shopping Bamba, and Bulls should be buyers here.
