Justin Fields is usually a young man in control of his emotions. He often acts way more mature than somebody with his experience. Yet it’s easy to forget the quarterback is only 23. Plenty of guys his age are still in college. Guys that age have a unique sense of humor. Chicago Bears fans and media caught a glimpse of that on Wednesday by complete accident during Fields’ weekly press conference. Things were chugging along as normal, asking him about the upcoming Buffalo Bills game and his outstanding success running the ball.
Then it went a little sideways. Questions came up about the frustrating refusal by NFL officials to call opposing defenders for late hits on his slides. It’s been a recurring theme all year. This was in reference to when Eagles defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh clubbed him in the head after Fields was already on the ground. There was no flag. The quarterback admitted his frustration over this issue and vowed to be more vocal in complaining to officials moving forward. However, when he described the sequence with Suh, he made a somewhat NSFW mistake in his wording.
The smile on Justin Fields’ face said it all.
He knew he’d screwed up and couldn’t help but laugh. Crude-minded fans will immediately recognize the blunder. It was a glorious 20 seconds of video that should be replayed all week. Another reminder that despite his somewhat emotionless demeanor, Fields has a great sense of humor. Moments like this should endear him to fans even more. For all the incredible things he can do on the gridiron, he’s still human. He makes casual slipups as anybody else would. It makes him far more relatable.
The final three games are big for Justin Fields. He’s hoping to finish on a high note. Upsetting the Bills would be a great way to build positive momentum for 2023. Barring that, he still has a chance to break Lamar Jackson’s single-season rushing record of 1,206 yards. Either way, it’s clear the young quarterback is coming into his own. With a better supporting cast, he has a chance to do special things in 2023 and beyond.

I think this will go over 90% of peoples head. They don’t know the “pause” game & what he meant lol. They played this clip earlier this morning on 670 the Score & both hosts mentioned it, but they didn’t get it
OMG i am never going to get these 3 minutes back!
I fell for another Lambert clickbait headline. When am I going to learn? 😆
