VIDEO: Justin Fields Just Pulled His Greatest Houdini Act Yet

-

Justin Fields has become not only the best offensive player on the Chicago Bears‘ roster but arguably the best player period. He has put the team on his back for weeks now. That was the case again in the first half against the Detroit Lions. Despite multiple penalties and a defense that still can’t get stops, Fields carried the offense to a 10-10 tie, capping the final seconds with what was easily the most ridiculous escape from pressure he’s had this year and maybe of his young career. There is no question that 99% of quarterbacks would’ve been sacked. Instead, Fields turned it into a bulldozing TD run.

That play had no business turning into a score. Detriot had everything bottled up. They’d been getting to Fields the entire half, and this time was no different. The only problem is it’s hard to tackle a guy that is 6’3, 225 lbs, and has 4.3 speed. People talk about how fast the Bears quarterback is. They always forget how strong he is too. Shrugging off a rusher like that without losing his balance and still having the presence of mind to find a lane into the end zone. Those are things you can’t teach. It was all pure talent and ingenuity.

Justin Fields continues to make something out of nothing.

Facts are facts. Both the offensive line and receiving corps haven’t been good in this game, and it’s supposed to be against one of the worst defenses in the NFL. That should give you an idea of this offense’s lack of talent. Try to imagine how bad it would be if they didn’t have Fields. He’s able to cover up so many issues with his elite athletic ability and growing intelligence. Darnell Mooney and Khalil Herbert have done their parts, but that isn’t enough. Fields needs more. Hopes remain high that Chase Claypool will become a bigger factor at some point soon.

Either way, GM Ryan Poles has a clear agenda ahead. He must devote as many resources as possible to upgrading the offense this coming spring. Yes, the defense needs help too. That can wait. Securing Justin Fields comes first. He is the lynchpin to the plan of competing for the next decade. That requires protection and firepower. It will be interesting to see what the Bears do when the time comes. They haven’t always done great work on that side of the ball.

@ Ghost Tomahawk, do you ever speak of the positives for JF1? I guess you would say that Michael Jordan was a one man show too? Give the man his due when it’s due.

Fields had another good day for himself… too bad he plays for the Bears and not the Fields. He’s supposed to distribute the ball… but we are being subjected to a 1 man show… still losing to bad football teams…gag.

That bum Pringles whiffed on the block and made Fields have to take a big hit in the endzone
