Jaylon Johnson Vented Frustration Over Losses On Radio

-

Justin Fields let his feelings be known after the loss to Washington on Thursday night. The relentless beatings he has to take are one thing. That he can handle. It’s part of the game. No, the thing that continues to wear on him is the losing. The Chicago Bears went 6-11 last season. Now they’re 2-4 with bleak prospects for a turnaround. He expressed his frustration by saying how tired he was of hearing how close they were to turning the corner. It appears Jaylon Johnson feels the same way.

The cornerback returned from his quad injury for the game and played well. He was a central factor in helping hold Carson Wentz under 100 yards passing. The defense only gave up 12 points all night. Yet it still wasn’t enough to win the game. One can understand why that would grate on him. He went on 670 The Score to discuss the Bears’ current situation. His words echoed Fields almost to perfection.

“I’m tired of hearing, ‘Oh, we’re getting better, we’re going in the right direction,’ but we keep losing. … We got to put our foot down, we got to be competitors and we got to win, ultimately.”

Jaylon Johnson has yet to experience a winning season.

People forget this. His first year in Chicago, the Bears went 8-8 and squeaked into the playoffs. He didn’t even get to play in that postseason game because of an injury. Last year they fell apart to 6-11. Now they’re floundering again with a brutal stretch of schedule ahead. No competitor ever wants to get used to losing. People who have come to know Johnson understand how angry he probably is. He demands perfection from himself.

One can likely guess he holds his team to the same standard. If he sees other players not doing their jobs, that has to burn in his gut. It would explain why he’s getting more and more vocal as a leader. If nobody else is willing to say something, then he will. That is often how it goes. Good teams need their best players to lead the way. Johnson has become one of those. Hopefully, his message will get through. Otherwise, the rest of the season could get ugly.

They are so close. It won’t take much to get them on a roll.

Maybe He could start by helping in run support. He did not Thursday night.

So this entire article is about Jaylon Johnson and you put a YouTube video with Mooney talking about the game. Great. Thanks.

That’s what it’s like playing for the Bears. Unfortunately, I’m so tired of this organization from top to bottom.
