UFC 273 is in the books after a wild night in Jacksonville, FL. With two UFC championships on the line on the PPV, it turns out UFC President Dana White isn’t too happy with the way one of those championship fights turned out.
The co-main event featured Aljamain Sterling defending his bantamweight championship vs. interim bantamweight champion Petr Yan in a title unification bout and a rematch from their controversial first fight. At the UFC post fight press conferences, White was asked what he thought of the outcome, which saw Sterling winning via split decision. When asked how he scored the fight, White responded, “I thought the judges blew that one, I had it 3-2 the other way.” He continued and said “I guess it’s all in how you score that first round.”

Sterling dominated Yan on the ground and came close on a few submission attempts during rounds two and three. Yan turned the tide and came out much more aggressive on the feet during rounds four and five. Round one was the toss up, as they spent most of the round just feeling each other out.
When asked if a trilogy bout was in the future, White said that it’s not likely that it would be booked for an immediate trilogy but that it’s definitely possible in the future. For now, it seems like TJ Dillashaw, who Sterling called out after the fight, will be next up in line for title shots.
