The loss in Super Bowl LV was Mahomes’ first postseason loss in regulation, and he will likely make it back to a couple more in his career. The biggest thing to note is Kelce’s contract expires after next season, meaning their window could take a major hit if he chooses to leave for more money. Next year could be the best chance Mahomes has at ring #2.
Buffalo Bills (+1200)
The Bills are a very good football team that appears to be a running back and another defensive piece away from playing in a Super Bowl. Josh Allen had an incredible year, but he had to do everything himself. There is no question the Bills will be looking to add running back depth through the draft or free agency.
Perhaps the addition of Aaron Jones or Kenyan Drake is at the top of their minds, or maybe it’s adding a star #2 wide receiver to pair with Stefon Diggs. Allen Robinson and Chris Godwin will likely be too expensive, but Kenny Golladay, Will Fuller, or Juju Smith Schuester could be doable.
To compete with the Chiefs, the Bills need another star on offense. They have the money to make it happen.
Los Angeles Rams (+1400)
Keep in mind the Rams’ odds have not officially been updated since the trade of Matthew Stafford. Here is my pick to win next year’s Super Bowl because through and through they will have the best team in the NFL.
The Rams have one thing to worry about and it’s paying Leonard Floyd, who had by far his best season in the NFL with 10.5 sacks. The Rams will likely have no money to make this happen, turning them to the draft to find an effective pass rusher.
Offensively, lookout. A team of Stafford and McVay, paired with the weapons they offer is going to be must-see TV. If I were to put money down today, it would be on the Rams.
