The Chicago Bulls earned their first win of the season on Tuesday night against the Washington Wizards in our nation’s capital. Now, with COVID-19 restrictions causing some teams to stay in the same locations for a period of time, the Bulls will once again play the very same Wizards team in the very same location tonight. It’s something we’ll have to get used to, as there will be plenty of times this season where you will see teams play each other back-to-back. The Milwaukee Bucks and Miami Heat just played each other on consecutive nights in the same location, so it will be very different, to say the least. The Bulls ended up grabbing the W 115-107 on Tuesday. Zach LaVine scored 23 points, including 9 straight in the 3rd quarter, and Coby White added 18 to bring the Bulls into the win column for the first time this season. The win also dropped Washington to an awful 0-4 start, and they’ll be looking to avoid a 0-5 beginning tonight. Spread: WSH -6, CHI +6

This is the same exact spread as we saw before Tuesday’s matchup, which makes sense because there has been almost no change between the teams in two days. Maybe the Bulls should have been given a little bit of credit for their win last time out, but this makes sense. I bet the Bulls on Tuesday, and once again, I have no real reason not to do the same here today. Russell Westbrook had his third triple-double in as many games after Tuesday, and I really wouldn’t be surprised to see him get another one here. The guy is simply a stat-stuffing machine, but unfortunately for him, he actually loses more when he gets a triple-double. So, maybe we root for him to get one? I just think this is a lot of points to be laying with a team that, while on paper looks better, still has yet to win a single game this year. Washington should probably be favored, but at 6, I think I’ll stick with the Bulls to keep it close.

Prediction: CHI +6

Total: 234.5

This is going to be one of the largest totals of the night because both of these teams are horrible defensively. The total went way under on Tuesday night, which is why this new total is slightly lower than it was. I would still take the under here because this is such a massive number that I don’t see the two teams making it that high. The Bulls bench depth is a lot better than Washington’s, and they should be able to stop the opposing second unit somewhat. I know it’s tough to bet the under on two teams that are below-average defensively, but I really feel like both teams are starting to get better on that side of the ball, and I think it leads to a similar type of score you saw on Tuesday. If that’s the case, it’s way under this number.

Prediction: U234.5

Money Line: WSH -215, CHI +210

The Bulls are 12-4 ATS over the last four seasons against the Wizards. It is hard at this point to trust either one of these teams to get the job done, but I just think the Bulls offer too much value here. I think the Wizards are still adjusting to having a player like Westbrook on their team, so I don’t think having him is an automatic lock. Plus, Bulls coach Billy Donovan knows how Westbrook plays since he was his head coach for years in OKC. The Bulls seem to be gaining chemistry with each game that they play together, and they have improved incrementally each game. Lauri Markkanen seems to be alright after an injury scare, and their deeper bench still will prove to be the difference. In a game that I think should be more of a pick’em, I would take the points with the Bulls and I think they can win outright yet again.
