Anthony Rizzo spoke to the media following Wednesday night’s game against the Tigers and the Cubs’ first baseman launched a visceral verbal attack toward politicians.
Rizzo’s comments comes as nationwide protests continue against police brutality, while his frustration goes back to the shooting that happened at his high school in Florida.
Rizzo’s teammate, Jason Heyward, sat out Wednesday’s Cubs game and he did have the full support from players despite them going out and playing.
Heyward addressed why he sat out in protest on Wednesday.
Three MLB games were postponed Wednesday night, while other players also decided to sit out like Heyward did.
The Cubs have Thursday off before starting a four-game series against the Reds on Friday.
