It’s no secret that the Bears have training camp locked down tight. The team is in absoulte control of what they want the public to see. Whether you agree with that move or not, it’s the reality nonetheless. This means we have to rely heavily on reporters, press conferences, etc. to get a grasp on how the team is performing in practices. However, there is another route you can try if you want an inside track on how the players are feeling in camp.
Social media.
Almost every athlete is on social media. It’s a way to not only grow your personal brand but to give your fans a unique way to directly connect with you. One of the more active Bears players on Instagram is none other than linebacker Roquan Smith. In one of his recent posts, he hilariously trolled teammate Joel Iyiegbuniwe.
It’s always fun to see teammates participate in friendly banter. It’s a sign that the locker room and culture is still there. That’s a testament to Ryan Pace and Matt Nagy who have brought in guys who help embodied that on a daily basis. Also, it’s good to see Roquan is in a good state of mind heading into the season as everyone is looking forward to him taking that next step in his career.
