ESPN’s Max Kellerman Urges This Bears Star To Leave Chicago

-

ESPN’s First Take Host, Max Kellerman, delivered one of the hotter takes I’ve seen in weeks. Max was asked if Khalil Mack should want out of Chicago and his response was rather telling.

“If I were him, I would want out.”

Kellerman stated the reason for him suggesting Mack should want out is due to the fact the Bears just can’t get the quarterback position right. Although Max felt strongly about this, his counterpart Stephen A. Smith surprisingly disagreed. Smith argued that Mack should definitely want to stay. His reasoning was simple:

  1. The Bears’ defense is legit.
  2. The achilles heel with this team is at the QB spot. Nick Foles will either push Mitchell Trubisky to be better or Foles will be the starter. Either outcome will be an upgrade from last year.

I honestly can’t believe I am saying this but I actually agree with Stephen A. Smith. This Bears defense will no doubt be better. Add in substantially improved QB play from 2019 and this team will easily make some noise. Heading into this season, Mack will be paired alongside a talent he’s never had in the likes of Robert Quinn. Akiem Hicks is back to being healthy. There is just a lot to be excited about on the defensive side of the ball. It’s safe to predict Mack might just have his best season in Chicago next year. Tim Hasselbeck put it perfectly when he said “there probably isn’t a better organization than the Chicago Bears to be a star linebacker.”

He’s absolutely correct.
