Las Vegas Raiders Sign Four Draft Picks as Camp Approaches

-

After signing first-round draft pick Henry Ruggs was signed a few days ago, the Las Vegas Raiders signed another first-round pick Damon Arnette. The deal is worth $13.4 million, with a $ 7.3 million signing bonus for four-years.

Damon Arnette

Arnette was drafted with the 19th pick of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Raiders. He will try to help upgrade the Raiders struggling secondary and defense.

Arnette was taken earlier than ost scouts expected. The Raiders saw his physical toughness and decided to draft him with their 2nd draft pick in the first round. Arnette is a physical corner, and the Raiders need more physical players on the defense.

The former Ohio State Buckeye has been working out with the Raiders this off-season in the offseason workouts held by Derek Carr and a few other Raiders players at a park in Las Vegas.

As senior, Arnette racked up 35 tackles, eight passes defended, and one interception that he returned 96 yards for a touchdown. Arnette also made second teal All-Big Ten.

Amik Robertson

The Raiders also signed fourth-round draft pick Amik Robertson. Robertson is going to come in and compete for the slot corner position.

Robertson played his college football at Lousiana Tech. Over three seasons, he had 184 tackles, 23 for a loss, four sacks and 14 interceptions three returned for touchdowns. He also had 48 passes defended, ranking him second among all active leaders in college football.

Robertson is 5-foot-9 183 but does not play like it; he is a physical player and will not back down from anybody. Another physical guy that will add some spice to the Raiders defense.

Tanner Muse

Tanner Muse also signed his rookie contract today for the Raiders. Muse played at Clemson for five years, He played safety and started 39 games. Muse recorded 192 tackles, four sacks, seven interceptions and 15 passes defended. He was apart of the Clemson Tigers championship teams in 2016 and 2018.

Muse will bring versatility to the Raiders defense. The Raiders have Muse listed as a linebacker, but he could see time all over the field. Muse probably could see time at safety, linebacker, and maybe even slot corner.

Bryan Edwards

Wide receiver Bryan Edwards, the Raiders third-round draft pick has agreed to a deal with the Raiders as well. Edwards attended South Carolina and started all four years. He played in 48 games, caught 234 balls for 3,045 yards, and 22 touchdowns.

Edwards is a physical receiver who can go get the ball and make plays on the outside something the Raiders offense desperately lacked. Hopefully, he will turn to be a critical player for the Raiders.
