The Chicago Bears didn’t blink with the 43rd pick in the draft when they grabbed a tight end. It’s been the position that has haunted them for years. They have to fix it if this offense was going to get off the ground. So they ignored the noise and got their guy. That guy is Cole Kmet. A big, athletic product out of Notre Dame who flashed a ton of potential in 2019. Most see him as an ascending prospect with a ton of potential.
The best part though. Kmet was born in Lake Barrington, Illinois. He grew up a Bears fan. His favorite players as a kid were Greg Olsen and Brian Urlacher. It was a dream for him that he might be able to play in navy blue one day. So one can imagine what he was feeling when he got the news he was their pick. The video of the reaction has all of the emotions.
Great stuff.
