Notre Dame WR Transfer Finds New Home

-

Back in October, Michael Young Jr made the decision to enter the transfer portal and leave the University of Notre Dame.

Today, he announced his commitment to the University of Cincinnati.

Familiar Face

Young was recruited to Notre Dame by Mike Denbrock, who is now the offensive coordinator for the Bearcats. Young expressed that he wanted to play for the man who recruited him.

Denbrock, who was previously a offensive position coach at Notre Dame obviously made a great impact on Young because years later, they will be reunited.

I had initially projected a few other schools of the same caliber, but did not weigh the power of relationship. I had a feeling he would end up in the AAC, and it turns out I was right, just not down in Central Florida.

Best of Luck

Young was a three-star recruit and never emerged as an impact player for the Irish. When he did get a chance to shine, he was quickly devastated by a collarbone injury.

Young brings two years of eligibility to Cincinnati and will be a guy to watch for the Bearcats who have been a very successful mid-major program even before current Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly was at the helm.
