Surprise QB Just Made Available, Potential Bears Target?

-

The 2020 off-season was already going to be one for the record books. The amount high profile quarterbacks available is unprecedented and it looks like said market is adding a former Heisman Trophy winner in quarterback Robert Griffin III. In a recent report from Ian Rapoport, it seems RG3’s name has surfaced as a potential trade candidate.

The most intriguing aspect in the Bears potentially trading for RG3, is how team friendly his contract is. He is only on the books for $2 million next season and the idea of Baltimore asking for a lot in return for the former first round pick isn’t likely. The Bears are in the market for a veteran QB to back-up Mitch Trubisky and RG3 checks a lot of those boxes the team is looking for. Either way, things are starting to heat up, as the legal tampering period begins March 16 and marks the real start of free agency in the NFL.
