For the second consecutive season, Toews is part of the NHL’s ‘Last Men In’ fan vote for the All-Star Game.
Chicago Blackhawks forward Jonathan Toews is going to need some help from the fans to make his sixth career All-Star Game appearance. Toews joins the Avalanche’s Cale Makar, the Blues’ David Perron, the Jets’ Patrik Laine, the Predators’ Matt Duchene, the Stars’ Jamie Benn, and the Wild’s Ryan Suter on the Central Division’s ‘Last Men In’ list.
Toews got off to a rough start to the year with just six points (2G, 4A) through the first 16 games, but the Blackhawks captain has turned it on as of late. In the last 24 games, Toews has seven goals and 15 assists to average nearly a point-per-game. Not to mention he’s 10th in the NHL with a 56.7 faceoff-win percentage.
If selected, Toews would join longtime teammate Patrick Kane on the Central Division’s roster. Toews’ 28 points (9G, 19A) currently ranks second on the Blackhawks behind Kane’s 47 (20G, 27A).
Voting for the ‘Last Men In’ opens on Wednesday, Jan. 1 at 12:00 p.m. ET and closes Friday, Jan. 10 at 11:59 p.m. ET. The maximum amount of times a fan can vote each day is 10, so get those ballots cast! Fans can vote at NHL.com or through the NHL’s mobile app. The 2020 NHL All-Star Game is on Saturday, Jan. 25 at Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri.
