Patrick Mahomes is a competitor and he expects to be the best at everything he does. That much has been proven over the past two years as he’s torched NFL defenses everywhere. So nobody should’ve expected him to show any mercy to the Chicago Bears on Sunday night. In staking his Kansas City Chiefs to a 17-0 first half lead, he accounted for a TD run and a TD pass. It was the latter though were he officially delivered the biggest burn on the Bears of this season.
While trotting off the field after a six-yard toss to Travis Kelce for the score, Mahomes was spotted counting out all 10 of his fingers. In case people aren’t in the loop, that’s how many draft spots he fell before the Chiefs traded up to get him back in 2017. It was a clear jab at the Bears who passed on him in favor of Mitch Trubisky. Absolutely savage and impossible to argue with. It’s a mistake the organization will have to live with for many years to come unless they either find their guy in the near future or Trubisky somehow recovers.
