The Bulls suffered their fifth road loss of the season 115-124 against the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday night, but Coby White gave Bulls’ fans plenty to be excited about moving forward.
White racked up 19 points and hit all five of his threes in the first half. He finished the contest with 26 points, five rebounds, three assists, and three steals.
With his high-quality performances in back to back nights, White became the youngest player in NBA history to hit five or more three-pointers in consecutive games.
He also became the first Bulls’ player in franchise history to have consecutive 20 plus point games before his 20th birthday and the second Bull in franchise history to hit six or more three-pointers in back to back games, Niccola Mirotic being the first.
White shot 9-23 from the floor against the Bucks, which isn’t incredible but he continued to show that he’s not afraid to handle the ball and take big shots in clutch moments.
He led the team in minutes played for the first time all season with 35. Three of the four Bulls’ victories this year have come when White plays 27 minutes or more. It’s clear that Sub Zero needs to be on the floor more often during crunch time and it looks like head coach Jim Boylen may have finally learned that.
