Latest Update On Kyle Hendricks Is Great News For The Cubs

-

The Cubs placed Kyle Hendricks on the injured list after his start against the Dodgers on June 14 because of shoulder inflammation. Originally Hendricks and the team didn’t think he’d miss more than the 10 days on the injured list, but it was later discovered that Hendricks had an impingement and they didn’t know how long he’d be out for.

However, things have been going smoothly for Hendricks ever since. Before Thursday’s game against the Braves, Joe Maddon said it’s possible that Hendricks returns before the All-Star break.

Hendricks threw 15 pitches the other day and had a bullpen session Wednesday, throwing 30 pitches at Wrigley Field.

The right-hander will throw another bullpen session Saturday and could go out on a rehab assignment after, or maybe just pitch in a simulated game before returning to the rotation.

Maybe Hendricks makes his return against the White Sox right before the break?

Anyway, things looking good for Hendricks. We should get a clearer picture on his return following the bullpen session Saturday.
