After making his fourth appearance with the Iowa Cubs on Tuesday night, right-handed closer Craig Kimbrel has left Triple-A and all signs point to him joining the Cubs bullpen as early as Thursday in time for the series finale against the Braves.
Kimbrel threw 3.2 innings in his four outings at Triple-A, striking out four, walking one, allowing two hits and one run. The right-hander was reportedly hitting 94-96mph during his perfect ninth inning Tuesday night.
Joe Maddon confirmed that Kimbrel is on his way to Chicago.
