Three Years After Trading Fernando Tatís Jr. The White Sox Signed His Younger Brother

-

Back in 2015, the White Sox signed Fernando Tatís Jr. when he was 16-years-old. Now, four years later and three years after trading Tatís Jr. to the Padres, the White Sox have signed his younger brother, 17-year-old Elijah Tatís.

The youngest Tatís brother will make his professional debut in the Dominican Summer League this year. The White Sox signed him for $500,00, which comes out of the team’s international signing bonus budget.

Let’s just hope the White Sox don’t end up trading Elijah Tatís for a bad veteran pitcher after only a hot six weeks that meant absolutely nothing.

The White Sox originally signed Tatís Jr. to $825,000 in 2015, when he was ranked 27th in the top-30 international free agents.

Earlier in the offseason, the White Sox also signed Eloy Jiménez’s younger brother, Enoy.
