The St. Louis Cardinals opened up their 2019 season with a 5-4 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers but that may not be the biggest L of the day for the Red Birds.
During my usual visit on Twitter.com, I came across a tweet from a dude singing his heart out to the tune of a song called, “We Are Cardinals Nation.”
I don’t know what the hell I was thinking but I decided to click play and what came next made Nickelback sound like the greatest band in the history of music.
Don’t believe me?

Nothing against Wesley because the Cubs have some questionable songs themselves (See, “Cubbies Are Rockin”) but good Lord, this song is made for torture.
My favorite lyric is, “We are October strong,” because I’m not quite sure what you’re so strong about as it relates to October. The Birds haven’t been in the post season since 2015 and if you recall, it was the Cubs that effectively put an end of their reign in the division.
But I tip my had to the songwriter, it’s not every day that I hear a song that makes me want to write an article in the middle of a Cubs game.
And if I know Cardinals fans as well as I think I do, they’ll put on their jorts and rock out to this gem all summer long.
