Zach Lowe reported today that the Chicago Bulls will not be discussing Lauri Markkanen or Wendell Carter Jr in any trade deals at the deadline. It isn’t surprising that the Bulls want to keep their young frontcourt intact.
Lauri Markkanen has improved during his second season and shows true promise of being an elite talent in this league. In his second season, Lauri has shown to be a leader on and off the court and shouldn’t be entertained in any trade deals, unless for a superstar.
Wendell Carter Jr. was very effective in the 44 games he appeared in this year. Wendell found himself in foul trouble quite often but was always effective and giving 100% on the defensive end of the floor. Wendell is a perfect compliment next to Lauri Markkanen and Bulls fans should be excited about this frontcourt for the future.
For those of you reading this article, Zach Lavine cannot be traded. In the first year of his new contract, he can veto any trade the Bulls attempt. Again, this is just for the first year of his contract.
