Ohhhhh boy here we go. When it comes to Manny Machado’s free agency saga, no one really knows what to believe anymore. One reporter says one thing, another reporter says something different minutes later. It’s why I’ve stayed away from writing about every little thing that happens. It would honestly drive me insane if I did.
Well, we may have just gotten some hard evidence pointing towards a Manny Machado/South Side marriage courtesy of Yonder Alonso’s wife.
Before we get into the details, remember that Yonder Alonso and Jon Jay, both members of the White Sox, are best friends with Machado. The former of which is his brother-in-law. By now it should be no secret that the three friends train together every off-season.
Okay, now to the good stuff.
Yesterday afternoon, Yonder Alonso’s wife posted a short video of her husband and Manny training together in the cages. Alonso is seen wearing a White Sox hat. Nothing crazy about that. But it looks like Manny might be wearing one as well.
Gun to my head, I’d say that is a Sox hat, but it’s impossible to tell for sure. It’s black and white, and the logo certainly looks like the one on White Sox hats.
One thing to remember is that current White Sox prospect Luis Robert broke the news to everyone that he was signing with Chicago by changing his profile picture on Instagram to one of him in a White Sox hat, though that picture was admittedly a lot clearer than the one of Manny. Could this be a similar circumstance?
