Something that has slipped through the cracks this Bulls season is that Justin Holiday is having a career year.
The 29 year old wing is averaging career highs in minutes, points, 3-point attempts, 3-point %, and eFG%. After the Bulls failed to move him both at last year’s trade dealine and this past offseason, many people around the organization reported that the window to move Holiday for a future asset had come and gone.
After a trade completed by the Utah Jazz and Cleveland Cavaliers yesterday, it’s not hard to imagine that window to move Holiday may be back open.
Cleveland has traded Kyle Korver to Utah, league sources tell ESPN.

If Kyle Korver could get this return for Cleveland, Holiday should be able to get the same return for the Bulls.
Yes Korver has a better reputation, and his 3-point shooting percentage of 46.1% and eFG% of 62.5 are both six percent better than Holiday’s numbers. But their age and contract situations need to be taken into consideration.
Kyle Korver is eight years older than Holiday and has a $15M cap hit over the next two seasons. Holiday is owed just $4.3M and will be a free agent at seasons’ end.
This deal should be the standard for the Bulls as trade talks move forward. Two future second round picks is far from a haul, but it’s better than nothing.
