There’s a new face on the Blackhawks’ bench this Halloween. Luke Fanella, of Woodridge, IL, officially has the coolest Blackhawks themed costume ever. Luke is 14-years-old and a diehard fan. For the 2nd straight year, Luke’s uncle, Jim DelGenio, designed a Blackhawks themed Halloween costume for him.
What’s really cool about the costume is not just the fact that it’s Blackhawks themed, but it is designed to allow Luke, who has a muscle disorder, to be mobile on a scooter while sitting on the bench with 2 of his favorite players, Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane.

Last year, Luke had another costume that was just as cool as this year’s bench costume. His uncle designed him his very own Zamboni to drive around the neighborhood.
The Blackhawks noticed last year’s costume and they invited Luke to the United Center to ride a real Zamboni.
How cool is that? My inner child is extremely jealous right now.
It’s stuff like this that really fuels my Blackhawks obsession. They’re one of the best organizations in the entire sports world for reasons like this. Let’s hope their newest player can help them get back in the win column. The next game is on Wednesday, October 31st against the Vancouver Canucks.
