Before the team’s 1:20 first pitch today against the Cincinnati Reds, Cubs utility man Ben Zobrist decided to take a much more practical approach of getting to his place of employment.
He donned his pinstripes and hopped on his bike to make the short trip to Wrigley field.
Just met @benzobrist18 cuz he was casually riding a bike down the street in his uniform.

Biking to Wrigley in full uniform is not something unique to Zobrist and he’s done this every season since he’s been with the Cubs. In 2016, he shared a little bit of insight as to why he makes the yearly bike ride.
“Ever since we’ve lived a mile away from Wrigley Field, I’ve wanted to ride my bike to the field,” Zobrist said. “I’ve been doing that this year. And I thought, ‘You know what? I just need to bring my uniform home, and ride ready for the game on the way to the field.’”
I can’t imagine driving through Wrigleyville and seeing Zobrist riding down the sidewalk.
Started my first trip to Wrigley by saying hello to @benzobrist18 on the way to#wrigleyfield. What a guy. @juliannazobrist @cubs. #gocubsgo pic.twitter.com/DtfpzlS5K7
