If you follow sports in any form, you are likely familiar with the traditional power rankings lists that come out each week. These lists normally grade respective team’s on their past week’s performance. With this comes controversy/heated debates as there are teams that will rise, fall, and even remain the same as each week passes. However, in this power ranking, there won’t be any teams. It will consist of only players. I will be ranking the top 10 Chicago Bears players from each week, starting with last week’s performances both on and off the field. Before we dive into the list, allow me to introduce the grading scale that will help me consistently rank player’s week in and week out.
Grading Scale
There will be ten Chicago Bears players chosen and ranked 1-10. They will be graded on two simple factors.
- Performance: This component will always hold the most weight when it comes to each week’s rankings.
- Social Media: Players can earn ‘extra points’ per se if they make good use of their social media and/or interviews. Examples: Engaging with fans, funny tweets, etc.
On top of the ten Bears players that are ranked, I will also name two additional players that I think are close but just didn’t quite make the cut. So without further ado, here are the power rankings heading into week six.
Power Rankings
1. Khalil Mack
This one shouldn’t come as a shock if you watched Mack’s monster performance on Thursday Night Football. He made Brady’s night a living hell as well as produced viral clip after viral clip. The man is on a mission and it’ll take a lot to knock him off the top spot on this list moving forward.

2. Kyle Fuller
Kyle Fuller is so underrated. He’s been a staple on this defense for years now yet rarely gets the praise he deserves. His massive hit on Bucs rookie Ke’Shawn Vaugn led to a fumble that changed the game and swung the momentum in the Bears’ favor. Fuller also leads the NFL in lowest completion percentage among cornerbacks.
3. Allen Robinson
You could argue Allen Robinson should be higher on this list. He is so damn consistent. The Bears No. 1 WR had 10 receptions for 90 yards against the then Bucs No. 2 defense in DVOA. I could go on and on but for the sake of your time, I’ll just end with this.
Extend him, Pace.
4. Eddie Jackson
Alright, I can hear it now. How is Eddie Jackson at 4? That is way too high blah, blah, blah. I know he hasn’t quite made those impact plays this season but there are really two factors for this. The first being he rarely get’s targeted and secondly the refs haven’t done him any favors with bad calls. Jackson also received some major points for this tweet he sent after the primetime win.

5. Akiem Hicks
Ahhh, a healthy Akiem Hicks is simply so fun to watch. He has 3.5 sacks on the year but his impact goes deeper than just pure numbers. His social media use is also top tier as he tweets on a daily basis. Take a look at this week’s gem.

6. Nick Foles
We can all agree Foles was far from perfect but he delivered when the team needed him most. From the Montgomery touch pass late in the fourth to just simply knowing what down it was. The veteran did just enough to help his team win and with this defense, that’s all this team needs. Surprisingly enough, Foles even tweeted after the game with a message to the fans.

7. Jimmy Graham
We all need to apologize to Ryan Pace. Jimmy Graham has been that good of an offseason acquisition. Graham caught yet another touchdown pass Thursday night, this time with just one hand. This is his fourth touchdown catch on the season, which is good for fourth-most in the NFL amongst tight ends. He capped the win off with a tweet that perfectly sums up the Bears this season thus far: just find a way.

8. Jaylon Johnson
Jaylon Johnson has done nothing but deliver since being drafted by the Bears. The rookie is second in the NFL in completion percentage regarding cornerbacks and is one of the leading candidates for Rookie Defensive Player of the Year.
9. David Montgomery
David Montgomery is doing whatever he can to get the most out of this offensive line. That being said, Monty continues to impress me, and heading into week six’s matchup against Carolina, I expect a big game. The Panthers are near the bottom of the league when it comes to run defense.
10. Cordarrelle Patterson
The swiss army knife that is Cordarrelle Patterson officially cracks the top ten. From snaps at running back to special teams. He does it all. Patterson is by far the number one kickoff return man in the league and perhaps the top gunner as well. Not to mention he is the best on the team when it comes to interacting with the fans both online and in person. Throw in his recruitment of available players/free agents and it’s clear No. 84 is gonna be a problem for anyone trying to make their way into the top ten.

Just Missed The Cut
Darnell Mooney: The fifth-round rookie out of Tulane has definitely turned heads so far this season. If Foles connects on that deep shot early vs Tampa, I think the rook makes a strong case to be in the top ten. For now, though, he’s left on the outside looking in.
Cairo Santos: It’s no secret the Bears have had kicker problems ever since letting Robbie Gould go. But all things considered, Cairo has been pretty good in Eddy Pineiro’s absence. I’m not saying Santos is the answer but he did deliver some big-time kicks including the game-winner in primetime last week.
