The Chicago Bears are still trying to process how in the world they got to 3-0 after falling behind 26-10 in Atlanta. Sadly, the victory came at a price. Running back Tarik Cohen left the game in the second half after suffering what appeared to be an ugly collision to his lower body around his ankles. He was immediately taken off the field and declared out just a few minutes later.
Never a good sign.
Sure enough, after the Bears capped their wild comeback, Adam Schefter dropped the news that people were dreading when they saw the hit. It’s likely Cohen suffered a torn ACL. Pending MRI confirmation, his season is likely over.
Bears fear that RB Tarik Cohen tore his ACL today, per source. Upcoming tests to confirm the injury.

@ProFootballDoc I think @TarikCohen just tore his ACL. Look where he holds his leg going to the ground. pic.twitter.com/QgHvy0rmYV

Losing Tarik Cohen is a big blow for the Bears
For multiple reasons too. He was their primary punt returner and the most versatile player in their backfield. Chicago already had questions about their running back depth before the season began. With him out, those questions get even deeper. Initial thoughts are the Bears will take a look at undrafted rookie Artavis Pierce who is currently on their practice squad.
Piere has a similar skill set to what Cohen offered. The team seemed to really like what they saw from him in training camp. Giving the rookie an opportunity seems like the logical play. That being said, it wouldn’t be a surprise if they went hunting for some veteran depth as well. There are a number of names out there including Lamar Miller, Theo Riddick, and Spencer Ware.
