White Sox vs. Cardinals Weekend Series In Jeopardy

-

We have some conflicting reports about the latest status of the Cardinals, but we know one thing for sure and that’s Friday’s series opener featuring them against the White Sox in Chicago has been postponed.

The more concerning report is Jon Heyman saying another member of the Cardinals organization has tested positive for COVID-19. This time another coach.

Bob Nightengale tweeted out a few minutes prior to that, saying the series would begin Saturday with a doubleheader. Although that was before Heyman revealed there could be another positive coronavirus case in St. Louis.

If Heyman’s report is true, then this weekend’s series against the White Sox may be in jeopardy.

The Cardinals have not played since July 29.

UPDATE

ESPN’s Buster Olney is also reporting that another member in the Cardinals’ coaching staff has tested positive for COVID-19.

Yet, it still seems like MLB is hopeful for the Cardinals and White Sox to play their three-game series, beginning with a doubleheader Saturday.
