The White Sox had a terrible home stand, losing four of five games on the South Side and while the offense is in a huge slump the defense isn’t far behind.
We all remember Eloy Jiménez’s adventure in left field against the Brewers last Thursday, but Adam Engel isn’t supposed to be contributing to the defensive woes for the White Sox.
During Monday night’s series opener against the Tigers, JaCoby Jones lined a 3-2 pitch to center field, where Engel attempted to make a diving catch.
Engel miserably failed and made it worse by not keeping the ball in front of him, allowing Jones to come all the way around for a 2-run, inside-the-park home run that extended Detroit’s lead to 5-1.
