Eloy Jiménez smacked a home run in the first inning, going back-to-back with Tim Anderson to start Wednesday’s series finale against the Tigers. The second-year outfielder added a single in the ninth, so it was another multi-hit game for the slugger. But once again, Eloy made himself look like a fool.
The memes are funny, the jokes are hilarious, but White Sox fans aren’t going to be laughing when Jiménez ends up injuring himself because it looks like he has no clue what the hell he’s doing in left field.
This is already the second time that Jiménez has gone tumbling over the rail and into the net down the lines and for the White Sox, they’re lucky that the nets have been extended all around MLB this year because Eloy may already be sidelined if it weren’t for them.
We know his defense isn’t good and the White Sox don’t even need him to be average in left. Hell, Eloy can keep being bad defensively, but the White Sox can’t afford to lose him for an extended period of time with an injury and he continues to put himself in hazardous situations.
In less than a full season, Jiménez has missed games because of three separate injuries while playing in left field.
