Tim Anderson Is Back With The White Sox

-

The White Sox are hoping Tim Anderson will provide a boost to their inept offense, as the shortstop is back with the team following his 10-day stint on the injured list with a groin strain.

The 2019 AL batting champ was 10-for-30 before going down with a groin injury on July 31, in Kansas City.

Anderson will return to the leadoff spot, where rookie Luis Robert, Yoán Moncada and Leury García have all filled in during the shortstop’s absence.

The White Sox are 8-9, after their 5-1 loss to the Tigers Monday night The offense as a whole has been atrocious with runners in scoring position, ranking 29th with a .205 batting average and 27th with a .626 OPS in those situations. Just goes to show that overall batting average doesn’t tell the whole story, as the White Sox have the second-best average in MLB at .258, but have now scored three runs or less in 10 of their 17 games this season.

This past week has been especially horrid, as the White Sox have scored 14 runs in their last seven games.
