Disclaimer: I love Allen Robinson.
However, this morning Mitchell Trubisky appeared on Good Morning Football and issued a statement that is sure to get football fans riled up. Kay Adam’s put Trubisky on the spot by asking him to defend her stance on not including Robinson in her top 12 fantasy wide receivers for 2020. Mitch not only defended ARob but he might have actually gone a little too far with this bold claim.
“Allen’s the best receiver in the NFC.”
Gotta love Mitch’s confidence here but this definitely is a stretch. According to Pro Football Reference, Allen Robinson did clock in as the 6th best wide receiver last season. Pretty good, right? However, three of the five players ahead of him reside in the NFC. These players include Michael Thomas (Saints), Julio Jones (Falcons), and DeAndre Hopkins (Cardinals). As you can see the NFC is stacked when it comes to the wide receiver position. But again, it’s great to see Mitch sticking up for his guy on national TV. I would also like to point out how now would be the perfect opportunity for the Bears to announce 12’s extension. I know we still have plenty of time but the team can’t afford to let Robinson walk as he was the only constant on offense last year.
