The first series of the season for the White Sox had a lot of good/bad/ugly vibes. The offense looks legit, the pitching is still too inconsistent, and the defense remains spotty. Now the Sox venture on their first road trip of the year to Cleveland.
Chicago White Sox (1-2) vs. CLeveland Indians (2-1)
Game 1: RHP Dylan Cease vs. RHP Aaron Civale
Game 2: LHP Carlos Rodon vs. RHP Zach Plesac
Game 3: RHP Lucas Giolito vs. RHP Shane Bieber
After 3 games, Cleveland boasts the top rotation in baseball, and the White Sox have one of the most potent offenses. Dylan Cease will make his season debut in game 1 after dropping jaws with his nasty breaking balls during summer camp.
Giolito vs. Bieber in the finale should be must-watch television assuming Lucas can shake off his rough Opening Day start and get back on track.
It will be interesting to see how Carlos Rodon looks coming off of Tommy John, and how short of a leash he will have in his season debut.
The White Sox pitching does enough to keep the offense in all 3 games this time around, and the Sox take the series 2-1 to climb back to .500.
